ABSENTIA
TEXT
This body of work deals with found objects in an urban site that was abandoned two years ago. At the beginning of the decay, it is still evident that these objects were once operated by humans. The objects and the space that they occupy are the result of a relentless urbanization and modernization and are now in a sort of state that is no longer regulated. Although still intact and appearing functional, their appearance gives no real clue to their original purpose. When the space was emptied, the original context for these remaining objects was also lost. The blur of the subject-object relationship makes it impossible to attribute a fixed meaning to them, allowing for a more imaginative reading of their relationship to the past and to the present.
